Tim Ervin Cooper (b. 1843) was a student and member of the Dialectic Society during the 1860-61 academic year, then joined the Confederate army. Cooper became a lawyer and eventually was chief justice of the Mississippi supreme court (1881-96). He received his BA degree in 1911 "as of 1863."
